Grieving women mourn at a funeral today in the Sadr City neighborhood of Baghdad.

Kirkuk- An armed group on Friday attacked a policeman while driving his private car in the northern Iraqi city of Kirkuk, killing him and wounding his brother who was also onboard, a police source said.

Baghdad- At least an Iraqi civilian was killed and four others wounded on Friday by U.S. soldiers' fire after an explosive charge went off near a U.S. vehicle patrol in al-Hurriyah neighborhood, northwestern Baghdad, a police source said.

Falluja- A suicide bomber detonated a car rigged with explosives near a U.S. vehicle convoy on Friday in Falluja city, 45 km west of Baghdad, a police source said.

Diala- A joint force of Iraqi-U.S. troops killed four armed men at a fake checkpoint in Diala province, a police source said on Friday.

Baghdad – The U.S. army said on Friday five service members were killed and ten others wounded in separate incidents in southern Baghdad.

Baghdad- Two Iraqi journalists working for ABC broadcast were killed by unidentified gunmen in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, police sources and ABC said on Friday.

Baghdad- Two bodies of Iraqi parliament Speaker Mahmoud al-Mashhadani's cousin and bodyguard were found in Diala province, a media source from the parliament said on Friday.

Baghdad – A wanted man "responsible for many killings, kidnappings and forced relocations" was arrested in Haifa street in central Baghdad, an official of the U.S. army in Iraq said.

Missan – An airtight security plan started on Friday upon tips that some organizations are seeking to destabilize security in the province, an official security source said.

Kirkuk – Unidentified gunmen killed an Iraqi officer of the al-Sulaymaniya Brigade in northern Kirkuk, an official Iraqi police source said.

Diwaniya – Three soldiers of the Iraqi emergency contingent were wounded in clashes on Thursday night and Friday dawn in the city of Diwaniya between a joint Iraqi police-army force and gunmen, the contingent commander said.

Najaf – A gang smuggling fuel to other provinces was arrested in northern Najaf province, a security source said.

Baghdad – Six "suspected terrorists" involved in transferring weapons from Iran were arrested in a raid in northeastern Baghdad, the Multi-National Force (MNF) said.

Kirkuk – Seven civilians, including an engineer, were wounded in attacks with explosive devices in Kirkuk and al-Huweija, an official source in Kirkuk police said.

Baghdad – A suicide bomber crashed his vehicle rigged with explosives into an Iraqi police checkpoint in the area of al-Musayab, south of Baghdad, killing three people and wounding four others, the Iraqi police said.

Kirkuk – Gunmen set three trucks carrying foodstuffs from Mosul to Kirkuk on fire and killed their drivers, an official source in Kirkuk police said.

Kut – Five unidentified bodies, including one of a 12-year-old child, were salvaged from the rivers Tigris and al-Dujaila, the Iraqi police in Wassit province said.
